It's sad that Linux invokes fear in the hearts of the uninitiated, especially since the
Operating System and associated Open Source Applications and Tools are great solution for
many common computing needs. It's a really big step of many folks just to try it out. The
SLAX -Live Pop Corn CD let's you browse the Internet with Firefox,
Word Process with AbiWord, IM with Gaim, and listen to music with the Beep Media Player. We
popped SLAX into an old PII machine it ran flawlessly in RAM for 13 months (and could
have lasted longer if we did not have to move the box).
